Final Project!

I had the awesome fortune to catch my brother-in-law purposing to my best friend over Thanksgiving. It got me into a very sentimental mood about marriage, so I based my final video on that - marriage.

Architecture

For this project, I just used my parent's house. Took about fifty pics, and here are the best of them:

Flash!

Here are the flash assignment pics. The first one is me spinning in a chair to get the background blurry. Second is my cat jumping after his toy. Third is downtown at night.

Black and White

I really, really love black and white - the way the light increases dramatic presence makes me really happy. This album had black and white, and also a few with colors I brought out with photoshop.

Macro Shots

Doing Macro Shots this week...since I don't have a macro lens for my SLR these aren't as close up as they could've been, but a few of them turned out great. I love the phone booth in particular.

Project #5

Project # 5 - Landscape (Project #4 will be up soon!)

I've never done landscape photo's before, and didn't exactly know where to begin...ended up with more nature close-ups than landscapes, but these are the best pics I ended up with. Changed a few of them to black and white or sepia, and messed with the exposure setting on my camera a lot. Shot them all in various places at Creve Coeur Park.

Project #3

In this project I had to tell a story with pictures. So I followed Becca and Aaron around while they made dinner. I was trying really hard to be creative so that it didn't get boring, so hopefully that worked. The hardest part was picking out the pics I wanted to use - I took over 500!

Portrait Assignment

I really had fun with this project - the first pics I took didn't turn out good at all, and I scrapped probably the first twenty to thirty. But I got a lot better as I went (at least, I think I did), and had fun. I really wanted to capture pictures that looked more candid than posed, so I tried not to give them too many instructions. The only downside to that was that some pics that would've been great were too blurry because they were moving. It was a great learning experience. I took about 140 pictures total, and around 50 of them were pretty good.
Here are my favorites of the day:

White Balance Assignment

First project for my digital photography class.  A couple pearl necklaces on my gold silk curtains, I thought it looked pretty, so I used it for the project - this, set on Direct Sunlight, one was the best representation of the real colors. Just follow the link to see all the pics.
